For the past four or five years we’ve been fortunate to have RAW comics pioneer and Masterpiece Comics scribe R. Sikoryak document our annual awards show via one of the most hallowed ways we know how: live drawing. Sikoryak’s live-drawing skills are by now legendary, and he regularly perform them as part of his ongoing series of Carousel show in New York City and beyond.
This year he set up his easel to the left of the stage and proceed to sketch for the new 90- minutes, without stop. The resulting 17 drawings act as a visualization of the DWA ceremony through the mind-filter of one of comics keenest practitioners. See Bob in action below, and all of his drawings in the gallery below.
(It’s worth adding, that anyone who wants to own one of these can do so for a small donation to the non-profit Wright Awards, and should contact us at dougwrightawards@gmail.com.)
